Luisa and Charo

This year, both our Presidents come from Mexico. Rosario Domínguez, called Charo by her friends, is currently doing PhD in Electronics. Luisa Decuir is doing a PhD in Economics.

Thanks to our Presidents, this Cathsoc year has a very Latin-American flavour, which can best be experienced when they are encouraging us to dance Salsa after lunch on Sundays!

Treasurer, International Officer and Cultural Officer


Alex, Tom and Mario

The three blokes on the picture are Alex Ren, our International Officer, Tom Conway, our Cultural Officer, and Mario Schweigler, this year's Treasurer. As can be seen on the picture, they also act as the barmen of The Barque Inn, our Chaplaincy bar.

Mario comes from Germany. After his first three years of study there, he came to Kent and is currently doing a PhD in Computer Science.

Alex is Singaporean and has just started his degree in Politics and International Relations after having served three years with the Singaporean Armed Forces.

Tom (finally a native!) comes from Norwich and has finished his degree in History last year. Currently, he is doing a gap year. Because he liked Canterbury so much, he decided to stay with us for another 12 months! Next year he is going to do an advanced guitar course in London.
