| During Term |
Each year during Spring Term and Summer Term, we share the Internationalism of
the Catholic Church - and the Cathsoc at the University of Kent in particular - by
celebrating our International Masses. On these Sundays, different 'flavours'
transform our celebrations. The Mass, its songs, prayers and readings are all in a
particular language; whilst our Pot-luck Lunch continues the same theme with a
gourmet meal - with the best dish of that country/region prepared for us! If you would like to help organising an International Mass, please contact Fr Peter as soon as possible. In previous years, we celebrated African, French, German, Hispanic, Italian and Polish Masses, and we hope to repeat their success in the years to come. Moreover, we also encourage groups from other countries/regions/languages to join in and to show their commitment as well! |
| Tuesday 08 May |
Win prizes! Bring along your photographs of Cathsoc events during the past year:

| Tuesday 15 May |

Ascension Day [Holy Day of Obligation]
| Sunday 20 May |
By decision of the Bishops of England and Wales, Ascension Day is now celebrated on the Sunday following the actual date (which would have been Thursday 17th May). Because of a Flower Show at the Franciscan Centre, our 11:30 Mass will exceptionally be at St John Stone House today. After Mass, we'll have our Pot-luck Lunch at the usual place, St John Stone House. |
| Tuesday 22 May |
Unavailable on any format for 20 years, we are showing the worldwide DVD premier of one of the
great historical epics, which features one of cinema's most legendary pairings; Peter O'Toole and
Richard Burton. The story tells of the tempestuous friendship between King Henry II
and Thomas Becket. The King appoints his trusted companion to the esteemed position of Archbishop of Canterbury, believing his loyalty will give him control over the church. However, Becket takes his new duties seriously and his devotion to God soon brings him into direct conflict with the State and his lifelong friend. (Don't forget the popcorn!) |
| Friday 25 May |
Enjoy the music of world famous bands (on CD). Feast on Internationally
renowned cuisine (from the local take-away). Dance till dawn and romantically
watch the sun rise (over the garden fence). All this... and more... "From Eight till (very!) late..." Not at £50 a ticket... Not at even 50p a ticket... BUT free! |
| Saturday 26 May |
For only £12 - Forget (?) about that revision and those examinations - enjoy a

| Sunday 27 May |
As usual on Sundays, our Mass is at 11:30 at the Franciscan Centre, followed by our Pot-luck Lunch at St John Stone House. |
