St John Stone Choir
St John Stone Choir is the main music ministry of the Catholic Society and provides the
music and hymn settings for Holy Masses and Eucharistic Celebrations of the Chaplaincy.
The choir performs a wide repertoire of hymns and worship songs and leads the congregation
for the weekly Sunday Student Mass at the
Franciscan International Study Centre.
Members come from wide-ranging backgrounds and nationalities, with differing levels of
experience. Due to the many nationalities represented at the Chaplaincy, the choir is also
well-versed in hymns in different languages and helps with the music for our
International Sunday Masses. Many members are also
involved with the annual
University Carol Service held in the
magnificent Canterbury Cathedral.
The choir always welcomes new members, whether you play a musical instrument or just like
to make a joyful noise. We meet for rehearsal every Friday at
7:30pm at St John Stone House.
