How to Find Us
In the life of the Catholic Society, there are four important locations: our
chaplaincy at St John Stone House, the
Franciscan International Study Centre, the
Ecumenical Chapel in Eliot College and Father Peter’s
office, also located in Eliot College.
St John Stone House
St John Stone House is our chaplaincy where we have our
Tuesday meetings. It is situated at the end of
University Road (where the traffic stops to turn left to go down Whitstable Hill
into Canterbury). In St John Stone House we have our chapel and our club room for
our meetings, lunches and parties. We’ve got satellite TV and even our own bar —
The Barque Inn.
The Franciscan International Study Centre
At the Franciscan Centre, we have our Sunday Masses.
Just follow Giles Lane from Campus, passing Keynes College on the left and the
University Medical Centre on the right, and immediately after the Medical Centre,
the Franciscan Centre will be to your right.

Eliot College Ecumenical Chapel
On Thursday afternoons, there is a Mass in Eliot
Chapel, followed by the Rosary. Once you’ve found Eliot College, go through the
entrance and stay on the left side, passing the Reception. Then enter the West
Wing, go down the stairs (these stairs are signposted as “Chapel Staircase”),
and in the basement you will find the chapel.
The colleges, in particular Eliot and Rutherford, are often quite confusing,
especially for new people. If you get lost, don’t worry — you’re not the only
one. Just ask somebody, someone will be able to show you where the chapel is.
Father Peter’s Office
Father Peter tries to be available in his office in
Eliot College each day from 11am until 2pm, and he is the only chaplain who is
always available for 24 hours each day and during the University vacations. If
you have anything you want to talk to him about, find him in his office.
It is very easy to find: Enter Eliot College, immediately turn right towards the shop,
turn right again through the swing doors and Father Peter’s office is in room W3W1,
which is the first room in the corridor on the left.
